9. Alligator. Targets: Shoulders, back, obliques. Difficulty: Intermediate. How-to: Another of Coughlin’s favorite TRX moves, this shoulder strengthener is also known as a reverse fly (though “alligator” is way more catchy, if you ask us).

1. TRX Single Leg Squat. Single leg squat is an amazing exercise for shaping and toning the hips, hamstrings, glutes and core muscles but most people are not able to so this exercise because of lack of balance and strength.
2. Y Fly. The Y Fly is the best ab workout using suspension trainers that work all the core muscles while keeping the spine rigid. This exercise stabilizes the core and leg muscles and also works the arms at the same time, that is not possible while workout on a stability ball.
3. Atomic Pike. The atomic pike is one of the best suspension trainer exercises that work the entire body right from the arms and core to the hips and legs.
4. TRX Powerpull. The power pull uses one arm at a time and although it is almost like a one-armed row, this is one such suspension trainer workouts that work the biceps, triceps, lats and the back – all at the same time.

1. TRX Chest Press. Starting position: Stand with your legs at the width of your hips, grip the handles of the TRX straps and lean forward away from the TRX anchor point with your arms straight out from your shoulders in front of you.
2. Low Row. Starting position: Take a strap in each hand, lean back away from the anchor point with arms extending from your shoulders, then walk your feet in while leaning back on your heels the entire time until your body is diagonal with your chest facing the sky.
3. TRX Squat. Let’s give the lower body some love. Pay close attention to your positioning here to protect your knees, low back, and balance. Starting position: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
4. TRX Burpee. This is NOT one of the easiest TRX exercises, so good form might be a challenge the first few times. Starting position: Place your right foot in the TRX foot cradles, then, slowly assume the plank position on the ground below the anchor point, but lower your chest all the way down to start.
5. T Deltoid Fly. Starting position: With your feet offset (right foot in front of your left foot) grasp the TRX handles and hold your arms straight out in front of you at the height of your shoulders and lean back.
6. Power Pull. This is a pretty artistic upper body move. Adjust the TRX strap to its shortest length and place it into single hand mode. Starting position: With your feet hip width apart, grasp the handle with one hand, bend the elbow of that arm and keep it high as if you are shooting an arrow.
7. TRX Sumo Squats. More low body building here, but slightly different than the squat move above. Your body position on this one will be different than the traditional squat-inspired TRX exercises.
8. Hamstring Curl. There’s so much to love about this system, and this is one of the best TRX exercises to show you how versatile it is. Starting position: Lie on your back, hands at your sides, with your feet in the foot cradles under the anchor point.
9. TRX Lunge. For this move you will again want to place the TRX handles into single grip mode, but this is one of the TRX exercises that has you placing your feet in the foot cradles.
10. TRX Crunches. Starting position: Take a seat on the ground, place your feet in the foot cradles, then roll to your front. Come up on your hands into a plank position, being mindful not to lock out your elbows.

1. Low Row. Set Up: You will need the TRX suspension rig to be hooked onto something that is high up and tightly secured. For this exercise, one of the easier TRX warm up exercises, the lower you secure the hoops the harder it will be.
2. High Row. Set Up: You will need the TRX suspension rig to be secured and positioned in front of you, just above head height. It's one of the easier TRX cables exercises, so be sure to try it if you're just starting out!
3. Single Arm Row. Set Up: You will need to have the TRX suspension rig set up so that it is secured in front of you, and suspended at about an arm’s length away for this movement.
4. Plank. Set Up: For this exercise you should position the TRX suspension straps so that they are about 15cm above the ground. Starting Position: Kneel facing away from the straps and place your arms in front of you on the floor, so that they are resting just underneath your shoulders.
5. Knee Tucks. Set Up: For this exercise (one of the easier exercises with the TRX), the TRX straps need to hang down to your calves, around 15-30cm above the ground so that your feet can fit comfortably into the high plank position.
6. Kneeling Tricep Press. Set Up: Set up your TRX suspension rig so that it is suspended at head height (when you’re in the kneeling position), from the wall or bars.
7. Chest Press. Set Up: For the chest press, one of the most effective upper body TRX suspension training exercises, you will need your TRX suspension rig to be set up with the cables hanging at waist height.
8. Lunge. Set Up: For this exercise, one of the most useful TRX gym exercises, you should ensure that the suspension straps are positioned to hang around 15cm off the floor.
9. Push Up. Set Up: For this TRX exercise, you will need to have the TRX suspension rig set up so that the handles are around 15cm off the floor. It's one of the more intermediate TRX suspension training exercises, so proceed with caution!
10. Bicep Curl. Set Up: For this exercise, attach the cables to an anchor point above your head and adjust the straps until they hang down about mid-length.

How effective is TRX Suspension training?

Suspension training (which you might know as TRX) has become a mainstay at gyms all over-and for good reason. It's a super effective way to torch your whole body, build strength, and get your heart beating, using just your own bodyweight. (Yeah, you can do that without a TRX too.)

Does TRX Suspension training really work?

If you are somewhat active and can still carry out certain movements, TRX Suspension Training can work for you, however we don't recommend this program for those who haven't worked out in a while and for the seniors out there who are already going through other health complications such as arthritis.
