2. Miniband Squat. Place a miniband around your legs, just above your knees. If you don’t have a miniband, simply tie your longer resistance band around your legs.
3. Chest Punch. Hold one end of a resistance band in each hand, and slide the middle of the band behind your upper back. Get into a split stance with one foot in front of the other for balance.
4. Monster Walk (or Band Side Step) Place a miniband or tie a longer band around your legs, just above your knees. Bend knees slightly with your feet hip-width apart.
5. Biceps Curl. Stand on the middle of the band with your feet hip-width apart, holding one end in each hand. Let your arms hang down by your sides so that the band is taut, but not stretched tight.

2. Front squat. Your butt, both sides of your thigh, and hamstrings are going to thank you for this one (after they stop burning). Front squats can also provide a strength boost to your groin, hip flexors, and calves.
3. Leg extension. Kick it up a notch with this quad builder. How to do it. Anchor a loop band in a low position on a support (like an incline bench), looping the other end around your ankle with the band positioned behind you.
4. Prone (lying) leg curl. This one goes out to your hamstrings. How to do it. Lie facedown and loop a band around your right ankle, anchoring the other end to a door for support.
5. Glute bridge. Salute your glutes! How to do it. Tie a band around your legs right above your knees. Lie faceup with your feet on the floor, bending your knees to 90 degrees.
6. Standing adductor. For boosting your hips, groin, and inner thigh, the adductor movement stands tall. How to do it. Anchor a loop band at ankle height to a support and stand with your left side facing the support, wrapping the free end around your right (outer) ankle.
7. Supinated clamshell. Loosen up your external hip rotators and improve your movement and flexibility — after all, this Lizzo & Missy Elliott tune isn’t going to dance to itself.
8. Plantar flexion (ankle flexion) Your ankles are slept on, but if you keep them limber, they’ll give you fewer problems further down the line. Even better news: You can take a load off for this one.
9. Lateral band walk. Don’t sidestep these side steps! How to do it. Step into a loop band or tie a therapy band around your lower legs, just above your ankles.
10. Standing abduction. This one’s a bit of a balancing act. It’s great for your glutes, though. How to do it. Anchor a loop band at ankle height and stand with your left side toward the anchor.
11. Seated abduction. To really show your thighs who’s boss, try a seated abduction. It takes all the chill out of sitting down. How to do it. Sit at the edge of a chair or bench and tie a loop band around both legs, just above your knees.

3. Hip Abduction Drills: Hip Abduction Drills will strengthen the medial glutes and hip abductors (outward hip movement) which will help stabilize the entire body and help prevent knee injuries.
4. Dead Lift, Squat and Bench Press: Adding elastics to these fundamental big lifts will increase the strength and power you can gain from these exercises.

1. Resistance bands offer a few major benefits for rowers. First, they are portable and easily storable. Unlike dumbbells, kettlebells, or other heavy strength training equipment, you can throw a few resistance bands in a bag whether you’re training at a commercial gym, training while traveling, or at a regatta, and be set for a pretty good workout. They can be stored easily in a boathouse, and attached to a variety of structures for use. Many rowing programs don’t have access to a full strength training facility, and are making do with limited equipment. Resistance bands are a cost-and-space-saving substitute for an entire cable machine, as well as a lot of dumbbell movements. Second, they are adaptable and can be used by athletes with a wide range of strength. Having to do a bunch of set-up and weight changes takes time when training a team of rowers, in a way that just picking up a band and finding the right resistance point does not. This can improve efficiency of training, and als...
