When levelling up via charactermancer for my wizard class, sorcerer class set to 1 + 0 = 1 places sorcerer level at 0 upon reaching the review portion. When set to 1 + 1 = 2, the level is 1 upon review but any extra features, traits, spells etc. (sorcery points and so on) are added to character sheet. (I set HP to 0 manually.)

If it does't pop up automatically when you open a new OGL sheet, you can go to the settings tab on the sheet. On the bottom right, there is an option to start the charactermancer. That makes sense. I’m using the shaped sheet. Shaped doesn't support charactermancer. The process that Roll20 chose to use is rather arduous and specific to Roll20.
