Restraining Order After Hearing (section 46b-15 of the Connecticut General Statutes) is issued after a hearing on an ex parte restraining order, or an Order for Hearing and Notice Summons. Again, this order type is issued out of the family court. Generally speaking, it is effective for 6 months from the date of the hearing.

13. Review the order before you leave the courthouse.
14. Make several copies of the restraining order as soon as possible.
15. Keep a copy of the restraining order with you at all times.
16. Give a copy to the security guard or person at the front desk where you live and/or work along with a photo of the abuser.
