2. You’ll need the following items to turn in your application in person (it cannot be mailed in) to your sheriff of the county where your home address is: A copy
3. Once you turn in your application, the sheriff’s office has 30 days to process your application.

5. Roadside areas: You can open carry in Minnesota roadside areas as long as you have your permit with you.
6. State forests and parks: You can open carry in state parks and forests.
7. Complete a firearms training course; must have been within 1 year of your application.
8. Download the application or pick one up from your county sheriff's office.
9. Photocopy of your driver's license or state ID card or photo page of your passport.
10. You will be notified by mail if your application has been approved.
