BETST – Emergency Telecommunicator 8 Hour Field Operation This form is to be completed and sent to Standards and Training following the completion of the eight (8) hour field observation (ride-along) training which is part of the requirements for becoming a Mississippi Certified Emergency Telecommunicator. Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards The

1. The minimum requirements for employment as a jail officer in the state of Mississippi are: 1. Be at least 18 years of age, or older; 2. Be a high-school graduate or recipient of a GED; 3. Be a Citizen of the United States; 4. Be of good physical and mental condition and capable of performing the duties under conditions inherent to the profession as verified by a licensed practitioner; 5. Be of good moral character as evidenced among other things by having neither a conviction nor a plea of guilty or nolo contendere for a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude. 6. Individuals must have been discharged from the Armed Forces under honorable conditions.
