1. Backboard Touches. Jump up and try to touch the backboard or rim. (If you can't, don't worry about it. Just jump as high as you can.) Jump 8 times in a row repeatedly without stopping in between.
2. Bench Jumps. Find a low bench (or lay a board across a couple of bricks.) Adjust the height as necessary, making it higher as you get better. Stand sideways next to the bench and jump over and back sideways 10 times, landing on both feet on each side.
3. Rope Jumping. Keep your arms at your sides near your hips, using as little arm movement as possible. If you know different jump roping steps, mix it up to keep it interesting.
4. Toe Raises. Face a wall or chair and put your hands on it for support. Lift one leg up, and bend it behind you while raising yourself up as high as you can on your toes.
5. Partner Jumps. With a partner holding your shoulders and applying resistance, jump up and try to tuck your knees to your chest. Jump 10 times. Rest 10-15 seconds and repeat.
6. Double Tap. Jump up and try to touch the backboard or rim twice before coming down. If that's too high for you, find a spot on a wall, fence, or something else and try to hit it instead.
7. Wall Sit. Put your back against the wall and sit with your knees in a 90-degree angle like you are sitting in a chair. Do this for 15 seconds and rest.
8. One-Man Drill. Jump up and touch the backboard or rim or as high as possible 10 times. Jump up and tip the ball off the right side of the backboard 10 times, using your right hand only.
9. Two-Man Drill. One player stands on each side of the basket. Player with the ball jumps up and passes the ball high off of the backboard to player on the other side.
10. One-Leg Jump. Jump as high as you can 10 times on your right leg and rest for 15 seconds. Jump 10 times on your left leg and rest for 15 seconds. Jump 30 times on your right leg and rest.

1. Ankle Bounces. This exercise focuses on the lower part of the leg. It aims to build strength in the ankles as well as the calves. The drill is very similar to jumping rope except there is no rope involved and you try to bounce up as high as you can each time.
2. Squat Jump. Squat jumps are a great exercise to train the proper muscles and also technique. This plyometric drill forces you to start from a non-running position and also without the benefit of taking a step to jump.
3. Lunge Jumps. This lower body exercise trains the take off. By positioning you in a lunge position it trains each of the legs to learn to push off as strongly as it can off the ground.
4. Drop Jumps. Part of the effectiveness of plyometric training is shock effect it does to the muscles. Drop jumps work on this aspect of training. This type of jump requires a high box, though starting from a lower box would be a good idea if you’ve never tried doing plyometrics before.
5. Depth Jumps. Once you’ve learned how to do drop jumps, it’s time to move on to depth jumps. Drop jumps are the first part of depth jumps. But with depth jumps, there is a second part where you jump right back up to another box.
6. Box Jumps. Knowing how high you need to jump is something an athlete should learn in order to control their ability. Box jumps are a great exercise that helps improve vertical leap and teaches you how to visualize how high you need to go up.
7. Frog Jumps. One of the best plyometric drills to train the hip movement for jumping is the frog jump. The exercise trains explosiveness as well and the ability to build as much power to go up.
8. Tuck Jumps. Explosiveness, being quick off the floor and improving the vertical are the three main points tuck jumps work on. In the exercise, you are forced to tuck in your knees up to your chest in the middle of the jump.
9. Standing Broad Jump. Jumping is a multi-dimensional activity. It includes jumping forward just as much as jumping straight up in most sports. There will also be times when you need to jump to the side.

1. Depth Jump. The defining characteristic of the depth jump is that the jump is preceded with the strong eccentric (negative) muscle action caused by dropping down from a raised surface, as opposed to a standard box jump where you start on the floor.
