Skip to main content (Press Enter). Dr. Kenneth Pisel is the Satellite Program Manager in the Joint and Combined Warfighting School at the Joint Forces Staff College.
The course prepares officers (O-4 to O-6) for joint duty assignments and provides JPME Phase II credit. JCWS-H is primarily a Reserve Component officer course. To gain Total Force perspective, interagency students, Active Component officers, and senior non-commissioned officers are strongly encouraged to apply.
Today, only the Army War College and JFSC (that is, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education (AJPME)) have blended programs. The challenge for the Army will be to draw enough other–Service students and faculty to meet the 60/40 mix requirement defined by law.
The program is organized into five educational blocks and all blocks must be completed to earn Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I credit. Active and reserve officers in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard must be in the grade of O3 and above.
