Make Money Online at Home for Moms and Free Extra Money

1. Blogging. The truth is (despite what you hear to the contrary): Starting a profitable website or blog takes time and money. There are some upfront costs that you may not be able to bear right now like web hosting and registering a domain name.
2. Freelance Writing. Likewise, freelance writing jobs, at least initially, aren’t big moneymakers for most people. If you have no experience, it’s even more challenging and unlikely.
3. eBay. Selling online could bring in some fast cash if you know what you’re doing. Read up on it first. Reach out on social media to learn the ins and outs.
4. Etsy. If you’re into DIY and love homemade products, you’ll love Etsy! Do you create your own products, like clothes, quilts, soaps, jewelry or perfume already?
5. Teaching English to Kids in China. I haven’t tried this yet but would consider it as a backup plan if one or more of my current streams of income dries up.
6. Live Chat. You’re probably familiar with the little rectangle that pops up in the corner of your screen when you visit many websites. There’s usually a question displayed like How may I help you?
7. Coding. I mentioned that with the internet, it’s easier than ever to support yourself at home when you’re parenting + schooling young children. Tech is your friend.
8. Medical billing. Nicole, a neighbor and friend, works in this field at home and loves it! She’s been doing this for over 15 years with the same company.
9. Legal transcriptionist. Another friend and fellow homeschooler, Jackie, transcribes court recordings and documents. Because she can do both audio and written, Jackie’s pay rate is more than for those who just work with written documents.

1. Become a Blogger. One of the most flexible options when it comes to a schedule, blogging is not to be overlooked for the homeschool mom! Build your blog over a weekend, and get started!
2. Create Homeschool Courses & Resources. One fantastic method for earning an income while working from home is to set up streams of passive income: products you’ve created and put up for sale online, so sales can happen without your continual input.
3. Make Other Stuff. If you’re crafty with your hands, starting a small business to sell what you create is also a great opportunity. You can work around your children’s coursework and you can even get them involved along the way, teaching them how to craft, encouraging their creativity, and showing them how a business operates firsthand.
4. Do Direct Sales. Becoming a direct seller for a company like Stella & Dot (or Mary Kay, Avon, etc.) is an option that scales well depending on how busy you are at home – and it has the added bonus of getting you out of the house to socialize with other adults!
5. Be a Consultant. What topic or practice are you most experienced in? Are you a whiz with social media, an incredible marketer, or an expert in child behavior?
6. Do Customer Service. Customer service never sleeps, so there’s room for a customer service career even while you’re also educating your kiddos from home.
7. Be a Working Artist. Pursuing a creative career is another excellent choice for the homeschool mom! Whether you’re a visual artist (e.g. painter, sculptor, or photographer) or prefer to work with words as a freelance writer, you can pursue your art in your downtime.
8. Become a Social Media Manager. In today’s online business world, there are tons of opportunities to become a social media manager! One great thing about social media management is that you can block out a month’s schedule for your client all at once (and schedule it in advance using a service like Buffer or Tailwind), then spend specified hours on social media maintenance and interaction throughout the week – specified hours that fit in with your homeschool life, of course.
