Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Deadline: April 2022. Eligibility: Youth ages 18 to 26 who were in foster care until age 18, and youth who exited foster care to guardianship or adoption after their 16th birthday, are eligible. Must have applied to, have been accepted by, or attending an institution of higher learning or trade school.

The Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program of New York State is designed to help foster care youth pay for post-secondary education or training by awarding students up to $5,000 a year for qualified school related expenses. ETV is once again running with the standard eligibility guidelines of this program.
Chafee ETV Grant funds can pay up to $12,000 per student, including costs other than Cost of Attendance, to help students to remain in school. Young adults may still be eligible for funds even if they had to leave college or a training program due to COVID.
The maximum number of years a student can receive ETV funding five (5) years, (consecutive or intermittent). You must have been accepted into or be enrolled in a degree, certificate or other accredited program at a college, university, technical, vocational school.
