The first 10 days of the Hybrid course will take place online, through our virtual instructor led training. Then the next 11 days of the course take place at the NCOAE campus and feature a hands-on, practical skills component. The first level, EMT, is about 120 hours of training. It takes about 3-11 weeks to complete, depending the course itself and the school you're receiving the training from. The second level, advanced emergency medical technician (AEMT) training, takes approximately 30-350 hours of training in addition to EMT training.
NMCC offers several EMT training programs: Basic EMT for one semester; advanced EMT for 2.5 semesters; and an Associates Degree in Emergency Medicine and with licensure upon graduation. Kathleen Phalen Tomaselli is a reporter covering the Presque Isle area.
