WALGA’s Council Member Essentials encompasses five training courses. This training has been specifically developed to deliver the essential skills and knowledge required by an Elected Member to perform their role as defined in the Local Government Act 1995.

Can a Walga training student use a web browser?

WALGA Training cannot accept responsibility for Students that are unable to navigate web browsers or use software provided to them by the Local Government. Students that contact WALGA Training requesting this type of support will be referred back to the Local Government for training.

How are local laws drafted in Walga manual?

Drafting style: there are two principal styles used by local governments when drafting local laws. One is the style used in the WALGA local laws manual and the other is the style used by government for Acts and Regulations. Either style is acceptable.
